There are plenty of quality prospects in this year’s NBA Draft class. Among the players that are expected to be lottery picks this year is guard Johnny Davis out of Wisconsin. The following is a complete Johnny Davis draft profile including stats, highlights and an NBA Mock Draft projection.
Johnny Davis NBA Draft Profile, Stats, Highlights and Projection
Johnny Davis Position: Guard Height: 6’4″ Weight: 196 Age: 20 Team:Wisconsin Badgers
If buckets are what you need, Johnny Davis is more than capable of delivering. The two-year college player averaged nearly 20 points per game for Wisconsin this past season while playing in the rugged Big Ten Conference. Davis has excellent mid-range shooting abilities and is capable of both taking and making tough, contested shots. His arsenal of ball-fakes and savvy moves is key to his offensive game. Despite having the size of a guard, he is not afraid to get dirty down in the post at either end of the floor. Speaking of defense, Davis plays with plenty of energy and passion at that end of the floor. His length and deceptive strength allow him to be a versatile defender.
Weaknesses
While Davis was able to guard multiple positions in college, his lack of top-tier athleticism could prevent him from doing so at the NBA level. Ideally, he will also put on a few pounds of muscle to improve his strength. Increased strength might help him avoid getting swallowed up in the paint on the offensive end as well. Davis is one of the top scorers in the 2022 NBA Draft class, but he was hardly efficient as a shooter in college. Given the trajectory of the modern NBA, he will certainly need to improve upon his 30.6% shooting clip from three-point range.
