Isaiah Spiller Draft Profile
Strengths
Isaiah Spiller struggled to put up eye-opening numbers during the 2021 season due to poor run-blocking but his 2020 tape shows what he can do. He has impressive footwork and elusiveness, which makes him hard to tackle for opposing defenses. Spiller’s balance and ability to adjust mid-run will translate well to the NFL, where the game is faster and tougher.
Weaknesses
Although his adjustments mid-run are impressive, he gets targeted for fumbles due to running the ball too loosely. Spiller preferred to run outside most of the time so he is a liability when it comes to running the ball inside. His vision is average, especially when the play breaks down. In today’s age of football, third-down backs are essential and you need to be able to pick up blocks or catch the ball, something Spiller will certainly need to improve on moving forward.
