Laiatu Latu Scouting Report

Strengths

Laiatu Latu is a mature player in the 2024 NFL Draft class. Yes, he is 23 years old, but his game is also well-developed and ready for the NFL. The repertoire of pass-rush moves that he possesses is rare for the NFL, much less college football. He shows great quickness on the edge, which is a nightmare for tackles when combined with his bend and flexibility. Latu’s hand placement is great, with fast strikes, and he has the motor demanded to be an elite NFL pass rusher.

Weaknesses

Latu has some medical concerns with his neck, but obviously, team doctors will determine the severity of that. His frame is also just average and he doesn’t have the strength needed to anchor.

I’m being picky with those last two things, but it’s a possible con to Latu’s game when stacked up against someone else. Truthfully, he’s going to be a menace on the field.

What to Expect From Laiatu Latu in 2024

If he stays healthy Laiatu Latu will be an impact player in his rookie year. He is big, intelligent and truly skilled. If not for his injuries, he may have been drafted even earlier. Hopefully, he stays healthy, because Latu will be a really fun player to watch.
