It’s another March, so that means there’s another printable March Madness bracket to be filled. When you’re filling out your NCAA Tournament bracket, whether you don’t know anything about college basketball or you want a more randomized selection, you may choose an alternative way to pick your winners.

Below, we have some fun ideas for how you can fill out your March Madness bracket! All we ask is that you remember us if one of these methods helps you fill out a perfect bracket!

Fun Ways to Fill Out Your March Madness Bracket

1. Coin Flip (Weighted or Non-Weighted)

You know this basic one. “It could come down to a coin flip,” so that’s how you can fill out your bracket. Use a coin flip to determine the winner of each game. You can even add a little twist to it and do a weighted coin flip, where the team has to win the coin flip with their seeding. For example, with the 1 vs 16 game, flip a coin 17 times and the 1-seed would just have to win once, but the 16-seed needs to win 16 straight times. If you do not have a coin, you can also use a wheel spinner, a list randomizer, or even a virtual coin flip.

2. Battle of the Mascots

The college basketball game is the real battle, but imagine if the two mascots could face off against one another. Who would really win in a fight? A Bronco or a Bulldog? Did a really cool-looking mascot catch your eye, why not decide the matchup because of that mascot? Let your imagination go wild!

On a related note, we recently did something similar in a recent episode of our new show, The Ranking Show!

3. Closest to Landmark/Place

Do you know what really settles a March Madness bracket game? Which university is closest to a 24-Hour Fitness, because fitness is key in a college basketball game. Maybe even a McDonald’s, because everybody has a McDonald’s nearby! Which team is closest to the Final Four location in Glendale, Arizona, because of “Home-Court Advantage.”

Determine the winner based on which university is closest to a specific landmark or place. This would have to take a little more research, and a little bit of more time, but when has a little research hurt anyone?

4. Highest Scrabble Points

The team with the highest points will always win in college basketball, so why not decide the game based on Scrabble points? Calculate the Scrabble points for either a team name, mascot, or the most important player on that team, and choose the team with the highest point total as the winner of each game.

5. Ask a Family Member / Family History

Who is going to say “no” to bonding with family? You can always rely on your family to help you out! Seek input from family or consider your family history when making these picks. If your mom went to North Carolina, then wouldn’t it be cool to choose North Carolina, and the decision was because “my mom went there!” Now, if you have a family member who went to both schools in the matchup, just ask a third member of the family or any of the other choices above. It’s just a nice way of adding a personal touch to your bracket!

Do you have any fun or unique ways how to make a bracket? We would love to hear them! Remember, It is meant to be fun and enjoy the Madness of March!
