It was an interesting past week for the quarterback position in the NFL. We saw many starters injured, young passers excel in increased opportunity, and we even had a starter traded to start for another team at the NFL Trade Deadline. Now, we add in four teams on bye, and it makes sense that you may be forced to look at fantasy football Week 9 streamers candidates.
Pick the right fantasy football streamers option to get the win this week and continue down the path of fantasy greatness, which ends with you hoisting your league’s trophy, championship belt or champ chain.

Derek Carr Fantasy Outlook (27.4%)
The shoulder injury for Derek Carr is in the rear-view mirror, and he has gotten progressively better ever since. The past four Derek Carr fantasy performances have been 15.7, 16.3, 17.4 and 18.3. This week, Carr has a match against a very beatable Chicago Bears defense.
Chicago surrenders the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing QBs. They also give up the fifth-highest completion rate (68.7%) and seventh-highest yards per pass attempt (7.1). While Carr has been solid for fantasy by targeting the check-downs and letting Alvin Kamara create plays after the catch, this is a matchup where Carr has the ability to throw downfield as well, which could result in a very good fantasy team.
Sam Howell Fantasy Outlook (50.1%)
Another week, another mention of Sam Howell in the fantasy football Week 9 QB streamers article. The man has been solid for fantasy this season, but people have been hesitant to fully buy in and pick up the Washington quarterback.
The Commanders got worse at the NFL Trade Deadline, trading away their edge rushers. Sam Howell has been great this season when playing from behind, and it’s likely he is trailing more often than not the rest of the way.
I actually don’t love Howell’s matchup this week against the New England Patriots. The Patriots rank middle-of-the-road against fantasy QBs. More importantly, their offense likely won’t be overly outstanding to put Washington in a hole. Regardless, Howell is a fair streamers option this week, and he looks to be a solid fantasy QB overall the rest of the way.

Taylor Heinicke Fantasy Outlook (0.3%)
The new starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons is Taylor Heinicke, and I think you can start him for your fantasy football team immediately. First off, the Falcons’ weapons are underrated. With an improved quarterback, he should make them better and the offense should start to score points.
Taylor Heinicke fantasy football owners should feel great about the matchup this week as well. Heinicke faces one of his former teams, the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings allow the second-highest completion rate in the league, at an insane 72.16%. Heinicke should get plenty of easy completions, putting together a decent fantasy day overall.
