Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Hopefully, you are getting ready for a feast with family, friends and, of course, football. Week 12 is here and the Cardinals and Chiefs both have the week off. As always, this article is not here for the obvious plays, so if you have Josh Allen, Tom Brady or Jalen Hurts, you know what to do. This article will look at fantasy football QBs on the fringe of QB1/Streamer status to help you make the tough choices to win your matchups. Let’s get to it!

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 12 QBs
Start: Cam Newton at Dolphins
Team Name: Green Eggs and Cam
Last week, in his first start since returning to the Panthers, Cam Newton put up 26.1 fantasy points by throwing for 189 yards and two touchdowns and adding another 46 yards and a touchdown with his legs. That is now five touchdowns in one full game and another partial one. Next up are the Dolphins, who are allowing 19.3 fantasy points per game (fppg) to opposing QBs, making this another nice matchup for Cam. Whether you picked him up before last week or waited a week to see how it went, get him back in your lineup this week, especially if you are missing Patrick Mahomes or Kyler Murray.
Start: Kirk Cousins at 49ers
Team Name: Captain Kirk, can you save me?
The QB10 on the season, Kirk Cousins, has upped his game even more over the last three weeks to QB6, averaging 21.4 fppg. With multiple touchdown passes and QB1 finishes in seven of his 10 starts and a 21:2 touchdown-to-interception ration this season, Cousins is in the midst of his best year as a pro. This week, he has a tough road matchup against the 49ers, but he has proven to be worthy of every week starter status with his consistency. It doesn’t hurt that he has Justin Jefferson to throw it to either. Cousins is a safe QB1 play this week.

Sit: Ryan Tannehill at Patriots
Team Name: Tannethrill and Chill
Last week, Ryan Tannehill threw 52 passes, his new season-high, for 323 yards and a touchdown and four interceptions against the Texans. The injuries have continued to mount for the Titans. Last week, A.J. Brown suffered a hand and upper body injury, making his status for this week uncertain. If he doesn’t go, that leaves Tannehill with Nick Westbrook and Chester Rogers as his starting WRs in a tough matchup against the Patriots, who are only allowing 12.4 fppg to opposing QBs. You are better off with a fantasy football streamer this week, as Tannehill is likely to struggle to move the ball this week.

Sit: Derek Carr at Cowboys
Team Name: Keys to the Carr
After putting up duds in two of his last three games, Derek Carr, who is averaging 13.7 fppg and is the QB23 over that stretch, has now thrown an interception in four straight games. Now, he has a tough road matchup on Thanksgiving, right about the time you are working on seconds or another piece of pie, against the Cowboys who are giving up only 16.3 fppg to opposing QBs and have 15 interceptions on the year. His floor in this matchup is single-digit fantasy points, so beware if you have to start him.
