There are no teams on bye in Week 8, which means you likely won’t be struggling to find active players. However, this doesn’t mean you don’t have tough decisions to make. That is where we come in, helping you with this Week 8 WR Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em analysis.
Obviously, there are some players who are must-start every single week due to where you drafted them, such as Tyreek Hill, Stefon Diggs and Davante Adams. However, the WR2 and WR3 positions are a bit more fluid, causing some tough decisions to be made. To help you through these tough decisions, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings and read on for our Week 8 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em analysis at WR.
Tight Ends — Week 8 Fantasy Football Start/Sit
Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 8 WRs
Start: George Pickens Fantasy Outlook vs Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are a bottom-10 defense against fantasy football wide receivers this season. This, combined with a talented offense, could mean the game script shapes up well for the Pittsburgh Steelers to throw the ball a bit more often.
Coming out of their bye last week, the Steelers surprisingly made some changes to their offense. They were a bit more aggressive and less predictable upfront, leading to an improved overall attack. One of the players to benefit most was George Pickens. The second-year WR finished the game with five catches for 107 yards. This marked his first back-to-back 100-yard receiving games of his career. Look for that trend to continue this weekend, making him a solid “start” in our Week 8 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.
Start: Drake London Fantasy Outlook at Titans
Drake London has continued to be quietly solid for fantasy football. He has posted double-digit PPR fantasy points in five of his past six games, seeing over 50 yards in four of those performances. This week, he faces off against a Tennessee Titans team that ranks as the seventh-worst fantasy defense at defending wide receivers. On top of that, Tennessee just traded away All-Pro safety Kevin Byard, so a struggling pass defense is made worse for this week and going forward.
Drake London will continue to be a solid fantasy football start.

Sit: Marquise Brown Fantasy Outlook vs Ravens
It’s a “revenge game” for Marquise Brown against the Baltimore Ravens this week. While this may be enough to make starting him tempting, Marquise Brown is a “sit” in our Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em for NFL Week 8.
The Ravens rank first in the league in yards allowed per pass attempt (4.5). The Baltimore defense as a whole has been balling, while Marquise Brown has been slowing down after a fast start. Brown has four or fewer catches in each of the past three games, and the big play hasn’t been there for him. I don’t believe the big play will be there this week against this Ravens defense, making him a lackluster fantasy play.
Sit: Tyler Lockett Fantasy Outlook vs Browns
It has been a tough season for Tyler Lockett. He is currently battling through a hamstring injury, which has clearly hindered him. In PPR scoring, he has been a top-40 WR just twice. DK Metcalf was out last week. This opened up more opportunities, but it was the two rookies that impressed instead of Lockett. With Metcalf likely to return, we could see Lockett’s role shrinking as the rookies’ roles grow.
On top of health and his role, Lockett also has a crappy matchup. The Cleveland Browns are the best fantasy football defense against WRs this season. Check my fantasy football rankings, since you may have a better option, such as the two “starts” in this Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article.
