Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 13 QBs
Start: Trevor Lawrence Fantasy Outlook vs. Lions
The much-ballyhooed first-overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, Trevor Lawrence, has emerged as a fantasy starter with five QB1 performances in his last six starts. He is the QB9 over that stretch, averaging 19.2 fantasy points per game (fppg). With a matchup against the Detroit Lions, who are allowing a league-worst 24.6 fppg to opposing QBs, and Travis Etienne at less than 100%, Lawrence makes for a locked-in QB1 this week.
This Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em views Lawrence as an obvious start in Week 13.
Start: Deshaun Watson Fantasy Outlook vs. Texans
Deshaun Watson is set to make his first appearance this week in an NFL game, which will be exactly 700 days since his last start. He will do so in the city where he played the first four seasons of his career prior to his controversial exit. If you have him on your roster, you either drafted and held him or picked him up in free agency recently. Either way, what are you waiting for? The matchup on paper is tough, as the Houston Texans are only allowing 13.2 fppg to opposing QBs on the season, but that is largely because teams primarily choose to run on them. Look for Watson to do enough this week to finish as a low-end QB1.

Sit: Kirk Cousins Fantasy Outlook vs. Jets
This season, Kirk Cousins has had two matchups against top defenses in fantasy points per game to opposing QBs — the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. Not surprisingly, those were his two worst games of the season. Against the Eagles, he put up 11.8 fantasy points (QB25) and against the Cowboys he only put up 2.2 fantasy points. This week, he draws another tough matchup against the New York Jets, who are only allowing 14.9 fppg to opposing QBs. Kirk Cousins is best left on benches if you have another viable starting option.

Sit: Lamar Jackson Fantasy Outlook vs. Broncos
This is not so much a sit recommendation as it is a buyer beware. Since starting off the year as the QB8 in Week 1 and back-to-back 40-point QB1 overall performances, Lamar Jackson has been the QB14 in fantasy and has only finished as a QB1 half of the time. With a tough matchup on deck with the Denver Broncos, who are only allowing 12.2 fppg to opposing QBs, Jackson is not the automatic start that he is most weeks. While he still offers immense upside due to his rushing ability, the floor is not as safe.
While you probably don’t have a better starting option on your team, unless you are in a shallow league, he is likely to disappoint this week.
