Brandon Boston Highlights

Brandon Boston Draft Profile

Strengths

After coming to Kentucky with sky-high expectations as a five-star recruit, Brandon Boston Jr. had a tough go of it in his only college season. He does have great size and length for his position and complements these physical attributes with solid ball-handling skills. Boston has a silky smooth jump shot, but his percentages were far from stellar at UK. Nonetheless, he has tremendous upside as a shooter. Boston plays well enough on the defensive end and is particularly good at anticipating things in off-ball situations.

Weaknesses

The lottery pick hype that surrounded Boston coming out of high school is long gone after his disappointing collegiate campaign. From a physical standpoint, he enters the 2021 NBA Draft with a notable lack of strength. He also lacks blow-by speed on dribble drives. His slight frame is a weakness when it comes to on-ball defending. It will be tough for him to be a lockdown defender at the pro level. Boston will need to adjust better to the NBA game than he did going from high school to college to warrant First Round draft capital.
