Low-Owned Fantasy Football WR Streaming Options Week 14
Adonai Mitchell vs Miami Dolphins (17.9% Owned)
Although he has certainly had his fair share of bad moments, Adonai Mitchell has looked like a completely different receiver with the New York Jets. This past week, Mitchell hauled in eight of 12 targets for 102 yards and a touchdown, leading to a WR6 finish. Even though he finished outside the top 45 amongst receivers in the previous two weeks, he still had 13 targets over those two games.
With Garrett Wilson on injured reserve, Adonai Mitchell should not be someone you look past. Over the past two weeks, he has played 85% of snaps or more in both games. It’s clear that he is now the top receiver in this offense. While the Jets do like to run heavy, they are playing from behind often and will likely be doing the same against a Miami Dolphins team that has found some form as of late. For Week 14, and quite frankly until Garrett Wilson comes back, Mitchell is a solid option at the receiver position.

Devaughn Vele at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3.6% Owned)
It is no surprise that Devaughn Vele has such a low ownership percentage across the fantasy football landscape. He had a terrible start to the season and really didn’t hit his stride until last week against the Miami Dolphins. While many will likely brush this off as just a one-week breakout, you could be getting in on the ground floor of a potentially league-winning addition by adding him this week.
Over the last two weeks, Vele has drawn a total of 15 targets. While that is a low sample size, it does show that he is one of the more trusted and targeted options on the New Orleans Saints. In three games since Rashid Shaheed was shipped off to Seattle, he has played 87% of the offensive snaps or more in each week. Chris Olave will certainly continue to be the main man in New Orleans moving forward, but with the Saints playing from behind pretty much all season and with a tough Tampa Bay Buccaneers team on deck that needs a win, the Saints will need to throw the ball a lot. When they do, expect a lot of the targets to go Vele’s way, leading to a nice opportunity for him to continue to produce.
John Metchie III vs Miami Dolphins (9.5% Owned)
In an odd twist of fate for John Metchie, in Week 13 against the Atlanta Falcons, he tied his career-high in targets (with eight), but only put up WR65 numbers on the week. Some may simply look at his output and stray away from taking a chance on him, but his usage over the past three weeks makes him a really solid waiver wire option. In Weeks 11 and 12, Metchie finished as WR17 and WR12, respectively. He also played 82% and 86% of the team’s offensive snaps in those two games. His 97% snap share this past week shows just how much the New York Jets like him in their system.
This week, the Jets face off against the Miami Dolphins. Much like with Vele and the Saints, the Jets are going to need to throw the ball a fair amount to stay in this game. With Metchie playing the bulk of the snaps and his targets only continuing to increase, he can give some sneaky value to owners who are faced with a real dire situation at wide receiver this week.
