Week 9 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em TE analysis from FlurrySports includes the likes of the Los Angeles Chargers’ Oronde Gadsden.
Streaming tight ends is a very popular way to play fantasy football. When doing this, though, you are most likely choosing between a couple of players to put into that spot. I am here to help you give an idea of who to choose using players who are in positions to succeed this week. Below, we will help you make those tough decisions in that tight end grey area, discussing our Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em players!
Guys like Trey McBride and Tucker Kraft are not going to be covered in this article. Those guys are must-starts no matter who they play on any given week. They are just too good of players to sit. The idea is that we are taking those players who may be sitting on your bench as number two tight ends and making the decision. Get the idea?
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with Zach Brunner and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 9 TEs
Start: Oronde Gadsden Fantasy Outlook at Titans
Oronde Gadsden has been on a heater over the last two weeks, finishing as TE1 in Week 7 and TE4 last week. That has come to the tune of a combined 241 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. He has certainly worked his way to the top of the Chargers’ tight end room. Against the Vikings last week, he recorded 77% of the offensive snaps. On top of that, he has seemingly found favor with Justin Herbert as the Chargers’ run game has somewhat struggled recently.
With the Titans playing a heavy zone defense, Gadsden will be able to continue to be a zone-killer as his big frame allows for an easy target over the middle for Herbert. The Titans also have an issue with tackling the ball carrier, and Gadsden has been the catch-and-run guy for the Chargers over the past three weeks. I am expecting another big week for Gadsden against a bad Tennessee team.
Start: Kyle Pitts Fantasy Outlook at Patriots
While Kyle Pitts is never going to live up to the hype that surrounded him coming out of the draft, it looks like he has found himself a nice role in Atlanta. He has been a safe target for Michael Penix, as the Washington alum continues to develop into an NFL-level passer. Pitts is also on a little bit of a heater recently. Over the past two weeks, Pitts has finished with a combined 16 receptions for 121 yards. He has garnered 19 targets, averaging out to just over nine targets per game over the past two weeks.
This week, he has a great matchup against the New England Patriots, who give up the sixth-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends, at 8.6. The Falcons need to bounce back after a poor performance against the Dolphins. The issue is that they play the Patriots. New England has been solid in stopping the run, so using Pitts as a big short-to-intermediate target should help open that run game.

Sit: Hunter Henry Fantasy Outlook vs Falcons
On the other side of the coin as Kyle Pitts, I am labeling Hunter Henry as a sit this week. It seems that Henry’s magic at the beginning of the year has worn off. Since he finished TE1 in Week 3 and TE8 in Week 4, Henry finished as TE25 in Week 5, TE33 in Week 6 and TE25 in Week 7. He was able to somewhat get back on track last week, finishing as TE15, but that came from bringing in one reception for a touchdown.
It looks like Henry is touchdown-dependent to really be able to make an impact for your fantasy team this week. Unfortunately for Henry owners, the Patriots take on the Atlanta Falcons, who have been lights out against the tight end position this year. They are tied with the Buffalo Bills in giving up the fewest fantasy points to the tight end position per game, at just 2.1. With Drake Maye being so effective at pushing the ball downfield, Henry is way too touchdown-dependent to have to rely on this week against a good defense.
Sit: Dalton Kincaid Fantasy Outlook vs Chiefs
The final “sit” in the Week 9 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em comes by way of Dalton Kincaid from the Buffalo Bills. Kincaid has been the ultimate volatile tight end this season, as he has finished as TE1, TE3 and TE8, while also having finishes of TE18, TE12 and TE31. The Buffalo Bills take on the Kansas City Chiefs this week, and if history is any factor, the Bills will struggle in this game. For the Bills to win this game, Josh Allen will have to play superhero ball. While that is asking a lot, we know that Allen can do it. The issue for fantasy, though, is that when this is the case, not many Bills other than Allen have big fantasy days.
Looking at Kincaid’s stats against the Chiefs in his three career matchups, he has yet to top 46 yards and has not scored a touchdown. This Chiefs team is really good and often shuts down opposing tight ends. They are allowing just 3.6 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this year. They have given up just one receiving touchdown to tight ends this season.
