Week 9 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em WR analysis from FlurrySports includes the likes of Cincinnati Bengals’ Tee Higgins.
Last week was tough for many fantasy football managers due to the injuries and bye weeks. However, Week 9 does bring a bit of optimism. We should be getting many of the top-tier receivers back in action, but filling out your lineup with competent WR2/3 options does continue to present a challenge that can create some Sunday morning stress. In order to help with this stress, we have our Week 9 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em!
In this weekly Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article, we will be talking about the WR2/3 grey area, where you may have some tough decisions that will need to be made. Players like Ja’Marr Chase and Jaxon Smith-Njigba will not be discussed. Yes, start them. You drafted them early for a reason, and it’s too early to move away from them! Instead, we are more concerned about the low-end WR2 or WR3 area where a player with a solid matchup should return value that is worth the start, and vice versa.
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out my weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with me and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 9 WRs
Start: Marvin Harrison Jr. Fantasy Outlook at Cowboys
Zach Brunner’s Week 9 Fantasy Football Rankings
Despite facing the Giants, Jets, Panthers and Commanders (without Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel), the Dallas Cowboys still surrender the most fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position. It’s impressive, honestly. So, while I am no fan of Kyler Murray and have plenty of bad thoughts about his WR1, there is no doubt Marvin Harrison Jr. is a “start” in the Week 9 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.
In the last two games that Murray and Harrison played together, MHJ totaled 18.6 and 13.8 PPR fantasy points, so there is a bit of optimism here. It will also be a bit of a homecoming for Murray in Texas, so hopefully we can get the best out of him, since that really is what this comes down to. If you force Marvin Harrison Jr. the ball, good things happen. Dallas has proven that you don’t need to work hard to “force” the ball to anyone against them. The Cowboys have allowed 7.7 yards per completion (No. 31) and a 68.5% completion rate this season (No. 27).
Start: Zay Flowers Fantasy Outlook at Dolphins
Lamar Jackson is returning to the lineup, and it is a homecoming for him down in Florida. Jackson has loved playing the Dolphins in four career games, putting up a total of 1,201 yards and 14 touchdowns through the air. This is a nice little homecoming for Flowers as well, so look for the Florida boys to make a bit of noise down in Miami. The Dolphins have allowed a league-high 73.7% completion rate while allowing 7.1 yards per completion. They have to try and stop Derrick Henry first, leading to plenty of space and downfield shots to Flowers and other receivers in this game. It’s been too long; look for Zay Flowers to find pay dirt again.

Sit: Stefon Diggs Fantasy Outlook vs Falcons
If you asked me to describe the Atlanta Falcons in one word, I would quickly change the subject, and you wouldn’t suspect a thing. You see, I’m sneaky, much like the Falcons’ pass defense. While I have absolutely no idea if Atlanta is good, bad, or average, it seems that their secondary is good. To support this, they have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to WRs per game despite the Dolphins putting up 34 on them last week.
Assuming Atlanta bounces back after getting embarrassed, this is a tough matchup. To go along with this matchup, I don’t trust Stefon Diggs’ role on a good New England Patriots offense. They are not featuring Diggs on this great passing offense, and here’s the kicker, Diggs isn’t throwing a tantrum or demanding the ball either. So, we are seeing Mack Hollins and Kayshon Boutte putting up big weeks, while Diggs is being a good teammate. That’s great for the Patriots and bad for fantasy. He will continue to draw the top coverage while Drake Maye will happily pass elsewhere.
Sit: Quentin Johnston Fantasy Outlook at Titans
We will once again wrap up our Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em with Quentin Johnston. Were you able to sell high on the Chargers’ WR? If not, that’s tough.
Johnston averaged 5.5 receptions per game over the first four weeks. In his last three games, his average has plummeted to just 2.0, including a zero-catch performance last week (good call, Zach). It doesn’t appear to be a coincidence that this trend is in direct relation to rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden’s role growing. He has totaled at least five receptions in three straight games. Not only is Gadsden doing some of the same things as Johnston was, while operating with a similar body type and skillset, but there simply are too many mouths to feed. Along with these two, Tre’ Harris is contributing a bit now, along with Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen. Pass.
