Week 3 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em TE analysis from FlurrySports includes the likes of Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts.

As we continue to progress through the start of the NFL season, we continue to get a better idea of who teams really are. Notoriously, though, the fantasy TE position is one that many people choose to stream the best possible lineup week-to-week because of the uncertainty. Whether this was your plan or you have fallen into the path of needing to stream TEs, this article is for you! Below, we will help you make those tough decisions in that tight end grey area, discussing our Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em players!

We do not need to discuss the obvious studs at TE in this weekly Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article. Yes, you should start Brock Bowers and Trey McBride every week, and it does not matter who they play. Tight end is one of the most-streamed positions in fantasy, so we are looking at that grey area where a player could return starting TE value if the matchup is right, and vice versa.

Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with Zach Brunner and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 3 TEs

Start: Kyle Pitts Fantasy Outlook vs Carolina Panthers

Zach Brunner’s Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings

While Kyle Pitts has been one of the more overhyped players when it comes to fantasy football over the past few years, his value has seemingly dropped to where it probably should be. That has led many doubters to start to believe and roll with the Atlanta Falcons’ tight end. This season, he has seemed to start a connection with Michael Penix and has ridden that to the tune of 11 receptions for 97 yards. He has the opportunity to continue that path upwards as he takes on the Carolina Panthers this week.

On the season, the Panthers have tied for allowing the most fantasy points to tight ends, with 22. On 13 receptions, they have given up 188 and a touchdown. With Atlanta seemingly content with giving Penix the easy throws, Pitts could be a strong weapon in the red zone against the Panthers this week.

Start: Juwan Johnson Fantasy Outlook vs Seattle Seahawks

Juwan Johnson has been a player that we have listed in numerous articles about waiver wire pickups, streamers and now Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em. Given the state of the New Orleans Saints, there are not very many weapons that scare you on the offensive side of the ball. That has led Kellen Moore to simplify the offense for Spencer Rattler, which has led to relying on Johnson’s big body to be the safety blanket over the middle of the field. On the season, Johnson has totaled 13 catches for 125 yards and a touchdown.

I would expect those numbers to continue to rise this week, as the Seattle Seahawks, much like the Carolina Panthers, have given up the most points to opposing tight ends this season, with 22. The Seahawks have also given up the most touchdown receptions to tight ends this season. Johnson should continue to be involved in the offense and will be at worst the second option on this offense when it comes to the red zone.

Sit: Dalton Schultz Fantasy Outlook vs Jacksonville Jaguars

While Dalton Schultz continues to be a cog in the Houston Texans’ offense, the offense as a whole has yet to really reach the heights that we saw two years ago. I still do believe in CJ Stroud, but in the midst of a new offensive coordinator and an overhaul on the offensive line, with a weak ground game, it is really hard to trust anyone on this Houston offense, including Nico Collins. That leaves Schultz sitting in a sort of grey area. Schultz is a good player, but as we have seen over the past season, he is not a priority in this Texans offense.

This week, I would expect much of the same, as the Texans take on a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that has been stingy against the tight end position this season. Through two weeks, the Jaguars have given up just 82 receiving yards to the position. With an already weak receiving role and facing a defense that has keyed in on the position, Schultz is a must-sit this week.

Sit: Dallas Goedert Fantasy Outlook vs Los Angeles Rams

After sitting out last week due to an injury, Dallas Goedert is back at practice this week and is currently sitting with a questionable designation. With signs seemingly pointing to Goedert playing this week, as a fantasy football manager, you may want to slow your roll on gearing up and starting him this week. The Eagles have a matchup with the Los Angeles Rams this week. The Rams have been able to keep opposing tight ends in check this year, giving up just 47 yards per game to the position.

On top of that, we know that Philadelphia’s game plan is to run the ball as much as possible. With an injury, it seems like using Goedert to run block brings about unnecessary injury risks. And when it boils down to it, in the red zone, Goedert is the third, probably fourth option to score a touchdown (at best).
