These are three late-round running backs to take in your fantasy football drafts!

While we have a pretty good idea of what players are the superstars in fantasy football, the real meat and potatoes comes late in the draft. When looking at the fantasy football running backs position, there are some gems that can be picked up late in the draft that can have a major impact on your team. In the past we have seen guys like Bucky Irving and Jerick McKinnon play pivotal roles in bringing managers championships. Keep an eye out for these guys this year late in your fantasy football drafts that could help you win your league!

3 Late-Round Fantasy Football Draft RBs to Win Your League

Trey Benson, RB – Arizona Cardinals (ADP 136)

Trey Benson was a trendy name when the Arizona Cardinals took him in the third round of the NFL Draft last year out of Florida State. However, as a rookie, he didn’t get many opportunities behind James Conner. With only 63 carriers for 291 yards and one touchdown, and with Conner returning, it might seem like his role could be limited.

But all the reports coming out of training camp are that Trey Benson will be much more involved. I would expect this to be a two-headed monster with both Benson and Conner. The veteran is getting older for the running back position and has played more than 13 games in a season only three times in his career. That gives Benson a chance to carve out a significant role in this backfield.

With an ADP of 146, Benson could be a breakout candidate in Year 2 at Arizona. He is a nice sleeper to take in your fantasy football draft.

Jordan Mason RB – Minnesota Vikings (ADP 97)

Jordan Mason had his best season as a pro last year in San Francisco, after Christian McCaffery went down with an injury. Mason produced 789 yards and three touchdowns while averaging an impressive 5.2 yards per carry before he also went down with an injury.

Now in Minnesota, he finds himself in the same backfield as Aaron Jones. The veteran might enter the year as the starter, but this will probably be a split backfield. Don’t be surprised if Mason takes the job sooner rather than later. Jones is going into his age-30 season and missed six games last year. Mix in that he was awful inside the five-yard line, and Mason might be the league-winner at RB that you are looking for.

Despite an ADP of 101, I could see him being an RB2 at the end of the season.

Braelon Allen, RB – New York Jets (ADP 147)

Braelon Allen enters his second year with the Jets after seeing limited opportunities in his rookie campaign. Allen finished with 92 carries for 334 yards and two touchdowns. But with a new coaching staff that looks willing to split the workload between running backs and Breece Hall being in the final year of his contract, Allen could take over this backfield at some point if the coaching staff wants to see what they have in Allen for the future.

Even if Allen doesn’t surpass Hall, the workload could be split enough to make Allen a solid flex option in deeper leagues. Like any true backup, he is one injury away from a massive workload in an offense that should be run-heavy with Justin Fields as their QB. At an ADP of 156, Allen is a great value pick in the later rounds.
