The Justin Fields fantasy football value is polarizing, but could he be a QB1 in 2025?
Justin Fields is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the NFL. As a true dual-threat quarterback, he can run the ball as well as any player in the league and throws a beautiful deep ball. Now, with a chance to revive his career with the New York Jets, here’s why Justin Fields could finish as a top-five fantasy football quarterback this season.
Are you in need of a good team name? No worries, since we have compiled the 150 best fantasy football team names for the 2025 season!
Justin Fields’ Fantasy Value is Rising
Garrett Wilson and Justin Fields Reunite
Who wouldn’t want to play with their college teammate? Justin Fields is now reunited with Garrett Wilson. At Ohio State, Wilson hauled in 73 receptions for 1,155 yards and 11 touchdowns from Fields. Now at the pro level and with Wilson being the guy on the Jets, expect this duo to go off together in 2025. Justin Fields and Garrett Wilson have been a hot connection so far during training camp as well. The duo has gotten right back on track from their old college days. New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn wants Garrett Wilson to get the ball “as much as possible.”
The fantasy football hype is real for the Fields and Wilson connection.

Run-First Offense For NYJ
The Jets have made it clear: they’ll be a run-first team. In the offseason, they signed low-tier free-agent wide receivers Tyler Johnson and Josh Reynolds. Their wide receiver depth chart doesn’t scream “pass-heavy,” with Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Malachi Corley, Reynolds, Johnson and Arian Smith. Outside of Wilson, there isn’t another standout name in that group.
In the draft, the Jets selected right tackle Armand Membou in the first round over tight end Tyler Warren. That decision alone shows the team’s commitment to building a ground-and-pound identity. Membou is a versatile offensive lineman who can play both LT and RT. And having running backs like Breece Hall and Braelon Allen only strengthens the case for a run-heavy approach.
Fields is one of the best rushing quarterbacks in the NFL. Being in a run first offense will just make his fantasy value sky rocket. I expect to see Fields have a career year rushing the football behind one of the NFL’s youngest offensive lines. We have seen how rushing production can make fantasy points stack up in a hurry.
Fields is the Full-Time Starter
Fields finally has the chance to start for a full season. Last year, he backed up Russell Wilson for most of the season. But in 2023, the Justin Fields fantasy value was impressive, finishing as the QB9 in fantasy points (PPR scoring) during his final year in Chicago. Now, he is in a more complete offense than he ever had with the Bears.
Justin Fields has elite upside in fantasy football thanks to his rushing ability and cannon arm. If you can snag him late in your draft, you might just find yourself with a league-winning quarterback.
