With NFL Free Agency set to start on March 12, now is as good of a time as any to take a look at your dynasty fantasy football leagues. There will surely be some big names on the move, which may affect your lineup, especially if you are trying to win back-to-back championships.

Getting a jump start before free agency hits may be an advantage so you can feel more comfortable about your team when those vets get cut or signed. With that being said, here are a few dynasty fantasy football players to trade for before 2025 NFL Free Agency!

5 Dynasty Fantasy Football Players to Trade For Before NFL Free Agency

    Justin Fields, QB (Free Agent)

Those who rostered Justin Fields last season got a little taste of what he can be when surrounded by somewhat of a supporting cast early. In six games that Russell Wilson missed due to injury, Fields passed for 1,106 yards and five touchdowns. On top of that, he ran for 231 yards and five touchdowns.

While Fields’ passing has always been somewhat inconsistent, one thing that will always be there for Fields is the rushing ability. Everyone who plays fantasy football knows that rushing is key when it comes to the quarterback position. Given the current state of the NFL and the lack of talent in the upcoming draft, numerous teams are looking for a signal caller to step in either as the franchise guy or a bridge.

One team that could fit that narrative is the New York Jets. With Aaron Rodgers (more on him later) playing for a new team next year, having someone like Fields come in to use his legs to complement Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson and an overhauled offensive line, seems like it could hold the Jets off for another season. Fields will be just 26 when the new season starts. He is just too good of an athlete to not use. Given Pittsburgh’s lack of using Fields down the stretch last season, I would imagine you can get him cheap.

    Ben Sinnott, TE (Washington Commanders)

Last season, the Washington Commanders drafted tight end Ben Sinnott from Kansas State with the 53rd pick. He did not get much receiving work in his rookie season, due to Zach Ertz’s connection with Jayden Daniels. While Ertz probably isn’t going anywhere in the offseason, he will be 35 two months into the season. It seems like the Commanders drafted Sinnott as a future plan for when Ertz retires or moves on. As he continues to age, it may be smart to get Sinnott sooner rather than later.

There is not much NFL film to go off of for Sinnott. But looking at his measurables at the NFL Combine, it is obvious that he is an athlete who can make an impact when on the field. He ran a 4.68-second 40-yard dash, recorded a 40-inch vertical jump and measured in at 6-4, 250 lbs. Given the Washington Commanders’ dynamic offense partnered with how difficult it can be to find a tight end, jumping ahead of the curve and taking a chance on a player who could see a big role in a year or two seems like a good idea.

KeepTradeCut currently has Sinnott ranked as the 180th asset in dynasty fantasy football, on par with players like Isaiah Bond, Evan Engram and Christian Watson.

    George Pickens, WR (Pittsburgh Steelers)

With the Pittsburgh Steelers two quarterback options from last season set to hit free agency, it seems likely that they will go the route of veteran quarterback, as their defense is still good enough to carry them to the playoffs. While Wilson was fine to end the season, there are certain quarterbacks, like Aaron Rodgers or Kirk Cousins, who can step into Pittsburgh and instantly make an impact.

One player who should benefit from another veteran quarterback coming in is George Pickens. Anyone who knows anything about football can see that Pickens has all of the talent in the world to become a star receiver in the league. While the mentals need to catch up with the physicals, bringing in a quarterback who can consistently get him the football should help to alleviate those issues. Either way, we have seen back-to-back 900+ yard seasons from Pickens. Given the Steelers’ knack for developing wide receivers, this is a player that I am willing to take a chance on.

The George Pickens owner in your dynasty fantasy football league probably either loves him or hates him, so I would test the waters and if you can get him for a second-round pick. The raw talent alone says there is going to continue to be production.

    Aaron Rodgers, QB (Free Agent)

Even though the media and the talking heads want to tell you that Aaron Rodgers is washed up and had a bad year, he quietly put together a solid season. If it wasn’t for Greg Zuerlein, the headlines around Rodgers would be much more positive. Anyway, it sounds like Rodgers wants to play another season. If that is the case, I am guessing he would go to a contender who is looking for a quarterback. The aforementioned Steelers look like an Aaron Rodgers landing spot, along with the Minnesota Vikings.

No matter where Rodgers goes, there will be a supporting cast around him, as Davante Adams probably joins him. Trading for Rodgers makes more sense in a superflex league. If someone was starting Rodgers last season, I am guessing that they are probably looking to retool with draft picks this season. If you are in a spot where you need a fill-in as the superflex or QB2, sending a third for one final push from Rodgers as you look for a championship feels like a good bet to make.

    Parker Washington, WR (Jacksonville Jaguars)

The last player that I want to highlight is Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington. Given his injury last season, as well as his current contract, Christian Kirk is a player who will become a cap casualty, as the Jags stand to clear up $10.5M by moving on from him in free agency. With Kirk filling the slot position, that should leave an open roster spot and it seems like the number one guy to fill that spot is Washington.

In Kirk’s absence last season, Washington compiled 390 receiving yards and three touchdowns. It became glaringly obvious that he was a part of the offense come the second half of the season. With a new offensive scheme coming and Trevor Lawrence coming off of an injury, having a guy who can work the middle of the field and find open gaps should be valuable. I am guessing that the Washington owner in your dynasty fantasy football league is not very fond of him right now and you should be able to get him for cheap.
