Fantasy Football Week 12 Defense Streamers
Washington Commanders (35.0%)
The lack of talent on the Commanders’ defense caught up with them last Thursday night in a rather lopsided defeat at Philadelphia. Fortunately for Dan Quinn’s team, they have a great opportunity to get back on track and contribute as a Week 12 fantasy football streamers option when they host another less-heralded division rival. The Dallas Cowboys are a trainwreck offensively at this juncture, especially with starting QB Dak Prescott lost for the season. Cooper Rush did throw for over 350 yards last week, but it only resulted in 10 points. The Cowboys have injuries all over the place and no reliable running game to speak of.
Due to the banged-up state of the Dallas offensive line, the Commanders have a great chance to dictate terms along the line of scrimmage in this matchup. Rush alone has committed three turnovers in his two starts since Prescott was lost for the year. The coaching edge also figures to belong to the Commanders as Quinn looks to outclass his former team. If Washington can welcome trade deadline acquisition Marshon Lattimore into the fold as he nears a return from injury, that will only bolster the outlook in the secondary.
Chicago Bears (37.4%)
Things haven’t been going well in the Windy City as of late, but the Bears’ defense is still a tough out on a weekly basis. Aside from when they seemingly rolled over against Arizona three weeks back, Chicago has still not given up more than 21 points in any game this season. This is a true testament to the strength of the defense when one looks at the piss-poor play of Caleb Williams and the offense in recent weeks. As they are in the midst of a three-game stretch against NFC North Division rivals, it seems reasonable to count on another high-effort game from this unit.
From a Week 12 fantasy football streamers standpoint, the Bears have to be in consideration given that they will be hosting the Minnesota Vikings. Yes, the Vikings have a gaudy 8-2 record. However, the luster has worn off considerably when it comes to quarterback Sam Darnold. In the last three games, he has committed a whopping seven turnovers! As a result, Minnesota is sneakily giving up the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing defenses on a per-game basis. It seems like a safe bet to bank on at least one or two more Darnold turnovers in this matchup as the Bears will need to much things up and make it a low-scoring affair to stay competitive.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (20.0%)
Indulge me in a sidebar for just one minute. How can you not root for this interaction of the Buccaneers? It’s no secret that this team is not what has been in recent years from a talent standpoint. They’ve had several injuries to big-name players, especially on offense. Yet, Todd Bowles coaches them up and has them right in the mix with some of the best teams in the league seemingly every game. If there’s one thing Bowles knows how to coach well, it’s defense. Tampa Bay’s offense probably won’t need to do a whole lot to get back in the win column on Sunday against a sad New York Giants outfit.
Earlier this week, the Giants announced the benching of their $160 million QB Daniel Jones in favor of third-stringer, Tommy DeVito. Say what you want about how “Tommy Cutlets” came in and shockingly won a few games last season. This is quite clearly a tanking move. New York is tied for the fewest wins of any team and is clearly looking ahead to next spring’s NFL Draft. With Jones under center, the Giants ceded the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing defenses. It’s hard to see DeVito fairing much better considering the sorry O-line he has in front of him.
