For the first time this fantasy football season, we have bye weeks to deal with. The Los Angeles Chargers, Tennesee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions are off this week. You probably have players on those teams, creating some difficult Week 5 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em decisions.

The WRs have been pretty good in the early part of the NFL season. However, it could be a strange week for the position. That is where we at FlurrySports are here to help. Below are our picks for who you should start and sit this week at WR.

Obviously, there are some players who are must-start every single week due to where you drafted them, such as CeeDee Lamb and Justin Jefferson. However, the WR2 and WR3 positions are a bit more fluid, causing some tough decisions to be made. To help you through these tough decisions, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings and read on for our Week 5 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em analysis at WR.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 5 WRs

Start: DK Metcalf Fantasy Outlook vs New York Giants

DK Metcalf finds himself on the good side of the Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article for Week 5. Metcalf has only had one bad game this season. Since Week 2, he has been on fire — 64.7 fantasy points in the last three games. The chemistry with Geno Smith is high and Metcalf is getting you the targets and receptions you need for the points.

On the other side of the ball is the New York Giants. Deonte Banks should shadow Metcalf for most of the snaps. Banks has given up 24 receptions, 184 yards and four touchdowns in the four games so far this season. That averages out to 16.6 fantasy points per game. Metcalf should be able to take advantage of the Giants’ CB, so start DK in your fantasy lineups this week.

Start: DJ Moore Fantasy Outlook vs Carolina Panthers

DJ Moore will get himself an easy matchup and should be in your lineups this week. The Chicago Bears offense has been below average, as Caleb Williams learns the ropes of the NFL. DJ Moore still has put up points as he gets the targets as WR1. Last week, Moore saved himself with a touchdown to give him over 11 points on the day. This week should be an easier matchup for the seventh-year player.

The Carolina Panthers have been pretty bad on the year so far. Carolina has given up the 13th-most points to WRs this season. It goes up to third-most when you limit it to WRs on the perimeter. Moore is on the outside 85% of the time. As long as Williams can hit Moore, he should get some points. Put DJ in your lineups this week.

Sit/Be Cautious: Nico Collins Fantasy Outlook vs Buffalo Bills

The number two WR on the year will find him in a tough matchup this week. Nico Collins a highly-ranked WR for this season and, this week, might need to grab some pine on your team. I am cheating a little bit and instead of outright saying bench him, but just look further into the matchup and realize he might not be in a great spot this week. First things first, it is a full WR room with Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs for Houston. That is before anyone in the RB or TE room. It is a full load of receivers for Houston, and Buffalo might have enough to stop them.

The Buffalo Bills have been very good at locking up WRs in the first four weeks of the season. No WR has scored over 10 points, except for Christian Kirk in Week 3. Only Michael Wilson has scored a touchdown out of all the WRs that the Bills have faced. I’m not fully putting the red light on Collins, but be cautious this week with him.

Sit: Chris Olave Fantasy Outlook vs Kansas City Chiefs

The WR1 for the New Orleans Saints should not be starting in your lineup this week. Chris Olave has had three good weeks since only getting three points in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers (50.1 points in the last three weeks). That should change come Monday night.

The Kansas City Chiefs defense has done very well against opposing WR1s in the first four weeks of the season. Only one WR1 has been able to score double-digits in the early-season matchups. It was Drake London in Week 3. The Saints offense started hot and has cooled off in the last two weeks. Bench Olave in your lineups this week.
