Happy Holidays and congratulations on moving on in your fantasy football league! In most leagues, this is a semifinal round, which means you have to string together two more wins to take home your championship. This is the time of the season where you need to nail your lineup decisions, and for that, you have come to the right place.

This article is not here for the obvious plays, so if you have Jonathan Taylor, Dalvin Cook or Alvin Kamara, you know what to do. Instead, we will look at fantasy football RBs on the fringe of RB2/Flex status to help you make the tough choices to win your matchups. Let’s get to it!

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 16 RBs

    Start: Sony Michel at Vikings

Team Name: It’s Always Sony in Philadelphia

Along comes December and, once again, a Rams RB is ready to step up and be a potential league-winner just like in seasons past — Cam Akers, C.J. Anderson, Todd Gurley. This year, Sony Michel looks like he has earned the trust of Sean McVay, as even with a healthy Darrell Henderson last week he led the backfield with 18 carries for 92 yards and caught two passes for another 23 yards. This week, he gets a matchup with the middle-of-the-road Vikings defense that is giving up 23.8 fantasy points per game to opposing backs. He is set up to come through once again as a solid fantasy football starter.

Start: Both Broncos RBs at Raiders

Team Name: The Heart Javontes What it Javontes

You know to start Javonte Williams each and every week at this point, unless you are in a four-team league. Over the last four weeks, he has averaged 20.8 fppg, and that has been while splitting carries with Melvin Gordon over that time. The one week Williams got the backfield to himself he put up 29.8 fantasy points. Gordon has been solid as well, finishing as an RB2 or better in five of his last seven games. The Raiders are giving up 28.8 fppg to opposing RBs and, over the last four weeks, that number has dropped to 34.1. With Teddy Bridgewater set to miss this week, look for the Broncos to lean on their two all-purpose backs heavily. You can trust both to finish as RB2s or better this week.

    Sit: Devin Singletary vs. Patriots

    Team Name: Seventh Devin

Devin Singletary has put up 15 and 17 fantasy points the last two weeks, which is good for RB14 and RB8, respectively. However, this week in a rematch with the Patriots, he is far more likely to finish closer to the 3.6 fantasy points he had against them two weeks ago than finish as an RB2. In four career starts against the Patriots, Singletary has only finished in double-digits one time, when he hit 10.2 last season. In his other three starts, he has finished with 5.8, 7.2 and the 3.6 this season. If you have had him starting, he has helped you get this far, but now you need to look elsewhere for help getting to your fantasy football championship.

Sit: Jeff Wilson Jr. at Titans

    Team Name: Hey Mr. Wilson

With Elijah Mitchell set to miss another game, you may be tempted to put Jeff Wilson Jr. in your lineup coming off of his nice game last week, when he had 21 carries for 110 yards and added on two catches for nine yards. He scored 20 points as the RB3 on the week. That was against the Falcons, however, who have given up an average of 25.9 fppg to opposing RBs. This week, he will face a much stiffer run defense in the Titans, who lead the league in the least fantasy points allowed giving up 18.3 fppg on the season. Over the last four weeks, that has dropped to a minuscule 11.8 fppg. The volume will be there, but the floor is lower than you would like for an RB2.
