Week 14 is here, and with it, the last week of the season for many fantasy football leagues. Whether you are still jockeying for position or fighting for your playoff life, you have come to the right place for your fantasy football start or sit questions.

This week, the Colts, Dolphins, Patriots and Eagles are all on bye, so you might be scrambling to replace some of your best players. This article is not here for the obvious plays, so if you have Austin Ekeler, Joe Mixon or Najee Harris, you know what to do. Instead, we will look at fantasy football RBs on the fringe of RB2/Flex status to help you make the tough choices to win your matchups. Let’s get to it!

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 14 RBs

Start: Javonte Williams & Jamaal Williams | Broncos vs. Lions

Team Name: Javonte My Body

Start J. Williams. Which J. Williams you ask? Both are in play as RB2s this week. First off, Javonte Williams. It looks like Melvin Gordon is back at practice, so he becomes more of an RB2 than RB1 if he has to share the ball, but the matchup is prime against the Lions, who give up 26.9 fantasy points per game (fppg) to opposing RBs. We saw what Javonte is capable of against the Chiefs on Sunday nigh. He likely will get more of a workload this week even if Gordon does play, given that performance.

As for Jamaal Williams, he has a tougher matchup against the Broncos, but he remains in play with D’Andre Swift likely out at least another week. Last week may have been disappointing, as he only put up nine fantasy football PPR points, but that was still RB27 on the week. He will undoubtedly see more than the one target he saw last week.

Get the Williams boys in your lineup this week.

Start: Tony Pollard at the Football Team

Team Name: The Pollard Express

Over the last four weeks, Tony Pollard has been an RB2 each week, including a tough matchup against the Saints last week where he put up 15.4 fantasy points. Over this stretch, Pollard has been the RB10 in fantasy football, with 57 PPR points, while Ezekiel Elliott has 57.2 PPR points. Pollard has done this on 49 touches in comparison to Elliott’s 62. With his knee injury, Elliott has been toughing it out, but it looks like it is in fact hurting the team more than helping by taking touches away from the explosive Pollard. With four teams on bye this week, Pollard is in play as an RB2 with an ever-growing 1B role in the backfield.

Sit: All RBs Seahawks vs. Texans

Team Name: Rex in FX

On paper, this looks like a great matchup for both the Seahawks and Texans RBs, as both are in the bottom six defenses in the league in fantasy points allowed to RBs, giving up 30.9 and 26.3, respectively. The problem is who is going to take advantage of these ripe matchups? On the Texans, the candidates are Rex Burkhead, who was the lead back last week with David Johnson out, but Johnson could return this week and Royce Freeman looms as well. For the Seahawks, the ageless Adrian Peterson and Rashaad Penny will likely split carries. But really, if you are in need of a W to either make the playoffs or secure a better position, do you really want to rely on any of these guys?

Sit: Tevin Coleman vs. Saints

Team Name: Stairway to Tevin

Over the last couple of weeks with Michael Carter out, Tevin Coleman has put up respectable RB2/Flex-type numbers, finishing with 9 and 10.7 PPR points, good for RB32 and RB24. This week, a matchup with the Saints looms. As has been the case throughout the year, you do not want to start your borderline RBs against the top defense in fantasy points allowed to RBs. Coming down the stretch, the Jets have a pretty tough string of matchups for their RBs, be it Coleman or Michael Carter when he returns, with matchups against the Dolphins and Buccaneers sandwiching their lone remaining positive matchup against the Jaguars. You might want to look elsewhere for your playoff RBs.
