It is hard to believe, but the fantasy playoffs are just around the corner. If you are jockeying for playoff position, you have come to the right place to help answer your toughest fantasy football start or sit questions for Week 13.

This week, the Panthers, Browns, Packers and Titans are all on bye, so you might be scrambling to replace some of your best players. This article is not here for the obvious plays, so if you have Jonathan Taylor, Austin Ekeler or Joe Mixon, you know what to do. Instead, we will look at fantasy football RBs on the fringe of RB2/Flex status to help you make the tough choices to win your matchups. Let’s get to it!

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 13 RBs

    Start: Jamaal Williams vs. Vikings

Team Name: Woah Calm Down Jamaal

When D’Andre Swift went down last week against the Bears, Jamaal Williams stepped in and compiled 20 touches—15 carries for 65 yards and five receptions for 18 yards, good for RB19 on the week. It does not look like Swift will be back this week. With his heavy involvement in the passing game, Williams becomes an RB2 until Swift returns.

    Start: Boston Scott vs. Jets

Team Name: I’m Shipping Up To Boston

For those of you new to the article, a common theme this season has been to start your RBs against the Jets, and this week is no exception. They are dead last against opposing RBs, giving up an average of 35.5 fppg, which is about 3.8 fppg worse than the next closest team. Miles Sanders possibly re-aggravated his ankle last week and was out-snapped 34-to-22 and out-touched 17-to-10 last week by Boston Scott, who finds himself in the right place at the right time to take advantage of this great matchup and return RB2 value. If you held onto him or just picked him up again, get Scott in your lineup.

    Sit: Tony Pollard at Saints

Team Name: Eat Your Pollard Greens

There was talk over the weekend that Ezekiel Elliott would possibly be given some rest to help get his knee right but, after that, he has logged two full practices to start the week and should get his usual number of carries this week. Monitor this situation as, if he sits, Tony Pollard is a plug-and-play RB1. This is also a reminder that Pollard should be owned in all leagues as one of the best handcuffs behind a noticeably banged-up starter. If Elliott goes, Pollard will have a tough time returning value this week against the Saints, who are allowing only 18.6 fppg to opposing backs.

    Sit: Alex Collins vs. 49ers

    Team Name: Alexorcist

On the year, Alex Collins has only hit double-digits in fantasy points and finished as an RB2 twice, which is pretty disgusting considering he has been the lead back in Seattle since Week 5. Ironically, one of those games was against the 49ers back in Week 4 when he was the backup to Chris Carson. That week, he had 10 carries for 44 yards and two catches for 34 yards, scoring a total of 15.8 fantasy points. Beginning in Week 7, he has now scored 5.4, 4.4, 5.9, 3.6 and 1.7 fantasy points in the last five games he has played. Although he is a starter in real life, he is not worth starting in fantasy football this week.
