Fantasy Football Week 4 D/ST Streamers

When it comes to fantasy football streamers, the defense/special teams position is always one to monitor. In fact, many owners opt to intentionally stream the position all season long, playing positive matchups over drafting a highly-regarded unit. For those looking to do just that starting in Week 4, this article will have some solid options for you.

Read on for three D/ST fantasy football streamers that are worth consideration for Week 4.

Defenses must be owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues to be included in the Week 4 fantasy football D/ST streamers column. All ownerships for players will be provided and will reflect that of Wednesday morning, once waivers are processed.

Week 4 Fantasy Football D/ST Streamers

Cincinnati Bengals vs. JAX (41.9%)

I know what you’re thinking: how could the Cincinnati Bengals make a streamers article? It’s for good reason. Surprisingly, the Bengals’ defense has looked very solid the last two weeks against Chicago and Pittsburgh and forced three turnovers in that span. They face the dismal Jacksonville offense led by a rookie quarterback, who despite looking pretty solid at the professional level, has a knack for turning the ball over so far. Through three games, Jacksonville’s defensive opponents have scored an average of 10.7 fantasy points, which is very viable for a streaming option. I don’t expect the Bengals defense to be unstoppable by any means, but the Jaguars have looked horrible this season and are bound to turn over the ball on Thursday night.

Tennessee Titans at NYJ (36.6%)

It’s been a trend the last two seasons to stream the defense playing the New York Jets, and sorry Jets fans, it still works and is a good idea. Many believed the Jets would turn it around this season but so far, rookie quarterback Zach Wilson has zero protection and has made too many mistakes as a result. Opposing defenses average over 14 fantasy points per game when facing the Jets this season. That is a very high number for a defense you’re going to pick up for one week and never own again. The Titans’ defense has been pretty horrible this season, but I like their chances of forcing two or three turnovers, as long as they apply enough pressure to Wilson.

Detroit Lions at CHI (1.0%)

I never in my life thought I’d include the Detroit Lions in any fantasy football article, but here we are. They’ve allowed 35 points in the first two games of the season and only 19 to the Ravens last week, but they have a prime matchup to turn it around. I simply don’t trust Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy’s play-calling or rookie QB Justin Fields to make any sort of noise in Week 4.

The Browns absolutely embarrassed the Bears offense last week and I don’t trust the offensive scheme there to generate enough yards and points to return a bad fantasy day to any fantasy managers taking the chance to stream Detroit. Considering they’re owned in one percent on fantasy football leagues, you clearly aren’t the only one who’s skeptical of streaming them. But hey, it could bode well for managers in very deep leagues in need of a better option at defense.
