With one week of the season in our rear-view mirror, let us set our sights on setting the best possible lineup for Week 2. If you have Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook or Alvin Kamara, you know what to do. If you don’t and have to make a tough choice, this is the place to be for those tough fantasy football start or sit decisions at RB2 and Flex in PPR leagues.

Welcome to our weekly RB fantasy football start or sit, and as an added bonus since it was such a hit last week, there is a name suggestion with each player as well. Good luck this week!

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 2 RBs

    Start: Myles Gaskin vs. Bills

Team Name: Gaskin For A Friend

Last week, Myles Gaskin put up 12.6 fantasy points, good for RB21 in PPR against the New England Patriots. He did so on nine carries for 49 yards and five receptions for 27 yards, while playing 53.7% of the snaps. This week’s matchup doesn’t get any easier, as the Buffalo Bills just held Najee Harris to 5.9 fantasy points. Gaskin’s usage in the passing game (18% target share and averaging over four receptions per game beginning last season) makes him a relatively safe play at RB2 or Flex, even in a tough matchup.

    Start: Ty’Son Williams vs Chiefs

    Team Name: My Ty’Son Punchout

Last week, we looked at the Ravens’ run-pass ratio and how heavily run-based their offense is. Ty’Son Williams proceeded to put up 18.4 fantasy points in his first career start on nine carries for 65 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 29 yards. Now, Latavius Murray did get more action in the second half and finished with one more carry, although he only managed 10 carries for 28 yards and a touchdown, but Ty’Son Williams is at least the 1a here. Last week, the Chiefs gave up 34.2 fantasy points to the Browns’ Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, so look for the Ravens to do much of the same with similar results. Start Williams with confidence this week.

    Sit: Mike Davis at Buccaneers

Team Name: If I Could Be Like Mike

Last week, Mike Davis only mustered up 10.2 fantasy points in a home game against the Eagles on 15 carries for 49 yards and three receptions for 23 yards. Aside from his ginormous quads, Mike Davis is best known for being a volume-based RB who could be picked up in the later rounds of drafts. This weekend, in a matchup on the road against the Buccaneers who have had an elite run-stopping D, he is best left on fantasy football benches, if you have another feasible option.

    Sit: James Robinson vs Broncos

Team Name: I’m Rick James B!#%&

Perhaps Urban Meyer wishes he would have stuck to college ball. After getting stomped 37-21 by the Houston Texans, who were the early favorites in the #RaceforRattler, the Jaguars looked completely outmatched. Not only that, but Carlos Hyde, he of the infamous Jekyl and Hyde team name, actually had nine carries to James Robinson’s five. Robinson had three catches for 29 yards while Hyde had two for 14. This looks like a hard pass with a tough matchup against the Broncos D this week.
