In a full team effort, the Boston Celtics came away with the 89-72 Summer League win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Carsen Edwards was the high-point man for Boston, with 14 points.
Carsen Edwards Scores an Efficient 14
Similarly to the Celtics’ first Summer League game, Carsen Edwards led the way in scoring. However, Edwards was a smooth 6/10 from the field and looked much more patient and less willing to chuck up shots. He also added three rebounds and two assists to his stat sheet, while committing two turnovers. The Celtics could not get anything going from, deep converting just 25 percent of their three-point attempts, but the team converted inside the arc for a total field goal percentage of 46.8 percent.
Dylan Windler Continues to Lead Scoring
Dylan Windler was the best offensive option for the Cavaliers, which is saying something, because he went just 5/12 from the field for 15 points. Naz Mitrou- Long posted 13 points, but shot just 30 percent. Overall, the Cavaliers field goal percentage was a cringe-worthy 33.3 percent, but they did have relative success from range, converting on nearly 40 percent of their three-point tries.
The Celtics have a quick turnaround and will face the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will have a day to figure out where things went wrong, before taking on the Pelicans on Wednesday.
