As we enter Week 7 of the NFL season, putting together your best lineup in fantasy football can be easier said than done. It is no secret that injuries to key players have dominated the headlines this year. There is a good possibility that you are entering your Week 7 matchup looking to supplement your team with some talent and if there is nothing speaking to you on the waiver wire, it is in your best interest to take a shot at buying low on a player like Rome Odunze.

Rome Odunze fantasy football owners have been disappointed with his start to the season. However, now could be the best time to buy low on the Chicago Bears’ wide receiver and reap the benefits in the future.

On the FlurrySports Playbook, we have everything your league doesn’t want you to have. Our fantasy rankings, the NFL Survivor tool, a weather app and hundreds of NFL team stats are all free. However, we also have our fantasy football trade value chart, waiver rankings, exclusive stats and more for those who want more information. Simply, we wanted a one-stop shop to help you win on your NFL and college football picks this season!

Buy Low on Rome Odunze | Fantasy Football Trade Value Week 6

Despite Disappointing Numbers, Odunze Holds a High Snap Share with Caleb Williams Return

As it stands, Rome Odunze is currently sitting at WR51 in half point PPR formats, making him close to unstartable at this point and giving the lack of confidence from fantasy managers. Things won’t get much easier this week, as the Washington alum probably sees the Christian Gonzalez matchup on a short week. Given those circumstances, this is probably the cheapest that you can get Odunze in a trade. It is really easy to be disappointed in Odunze given the lack of fantasy production, but if there is something to smile about, it is his snap share. Odunze is seeing 86.8% of wide receiver snaps, by far the most of any Bears wide receivers. In fact, with Caleb Williams returning from injury last week, Odunze was on the field for 96% of Chicago’s offensive snaps. Just given the time that Odunze is spending on the field, there will be positive growth as the Bears gear up for another playoff run.

As I alluded to before, Caleb Williams returning from his hamstring injury is a great sign for Odunze’s fantasy production. With Williams on the field, Odunze sees a little over 11 fantasy points per game, while also seeing his touchdowns per game increase. We saw the connection that the two had last season, with Odunze finishing the year with 661 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games.

We know that the Bears want to run the football, so opposing defenses have to be able to take that away first and foremost. That means that safeties are going to have to cheat up in the run game, giving Odunze the opportunity to beat defensive backs deep in one-on-one scenarios. Not only do safeties have to respect the run game; we saw Luther Burden and Colston Loveland put together solid performances in the middle of the field last week, which should in turn open up the sidelines and deep passes for Williams and Odunze.

Chicago Bears WRs Face a Favorable Strength of Schedule

If you are looking at trading for players in fantasy football right, you need to consider what the player’s strength of schedule is that you are trading for. If you are looking to trade for a wide receiver, you probably do not want a player that is going to match up against Derek Stingley and Chrstian Gonzalez in weeks 16 and 17. The good news is that for the Bears receiving core and primarily Odunze, Chicago has a fairly easy strength of schedule for the rest of the season. As I stated before, they do have a match up against New England this week and another tough match up against Seattle the following week, but after that, the schedule really opens up. What I like the most is the Week 16 matchup against Green Bay and the week 17 matchup against Detroit. Both of those NFC North’s teams bigger weaknesses come among an injured or inconsistent secondary. Given how competitive the NFC North has been through six weeks, it is also likely that both of those games will have major playoff implications for Chicago, meaning that the ball is going to be in the hands of their better players more often.

What is the Rome Odunze Fantasy Trade Value?

As I stated before, Odunze has been among the most disappointing players in fantasy football this season, but the high snap share, as well as the favorable strength of schedule, points in the right direction for the Bears wide receiver.

According to the FlurrySports Fantasy Football Trade Value Tool, Rome Odunze has a value of 20.1. That puts him in a tier with players like JK Dobbins (20.4), Omarion Hampton (20.1), Braelon Allen (20), Germie Bernard (19.8) and Jaylen Waddle (18.8). Check out his updated trade value on the FlurrySports Playbook!

In looking to make a fantasy football trade for Odunze, a possible trade could revolve around moving a piece like Omarion Hampton (Trade Value of 20.1) in a one-for-one trade if the Odunze owner needs a running back. You may also be able to move a player like Xavier Worthy who is coming off of a solid week, as Rashee Rice is set to come back soon in a one-for-one trade. You may also be more incentivized to trade a player like Garrett Wilson (trade value of 37.3) for Odunze and Jordan Addison. Minnesota wide receivers have the third easiest strength of schedule remaining.

It is likely that the Rome Odunze owner in your league is not going to be set on keeping him if you offer a player that can be started. So a low ceiling player like Tony Pollard could be enough to entice the owner to feel like they are winning the trade, when in reality you are taking a calculated gamble that can pay off big time come the fantasy playoffs.

Making a move for a player like in fantasy football is a big move, so you need to refer to the FlurrySports Fantasy Football Trade Value tool to best understand what his and what other players’ values are. Play around with the tool and make sure that you are not giving up too much for Odunze, as right now is the best time to buy him in fantasy football.
