Jahmyr Gibbs HIGHER 29.5 Receiving Yards
When talking about the stars in this game, there might not be a bigger one right now than Jahmyr Gibbs. The Detroit Lions RB is coming off a week where we saw him finish with 156 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and he led all players with 34 total looks. While the rushing yards are there, attacking the receiving line in this game is my goal. Gibbs went for 30 receiving yards last week, something I think will happen again this week.
The Bills are coming into this game as 4.5-point favorites, meaning that the Lions will probably be playing from behind. With that being the case, moving away from the running game and using Gibbs as a receiver makes a lot of sense. Last season, Gibbs averaged just over 36 receiving yards per game. I am always in favor of taking picks that can hit on one play, and with Gibbs’ dynamic ability, he can go for 30 yards on any given play, especially if he can get into space.
Dalton Kincaid HIGHER 53.5 Receiving Yards
Last week against Houston, Dalton Kincaid put together one of the best games of his career, totaling 130 receiving yards. Seeing Kincaid succeed early in the season makes sense, considering Joe Brady was one of the driving forces of bringing the Utah alum to Buffalo. Now, the pieces are in place for Kincaid to succeed once again this week.
First, Aidan Hutchinson will get quick pressure on Josh Allen in this game, meaning that he will have to get the ball out quickly. That works for Kincaid, who plays in the middle of the field. Second, the Lions are without Brian Branch in this game. This gives Kincaid a favorable matchup against Avonte Maddux and Chuck Clark.
Jameson Williams HIGHER 3.5 Receptions
Throughout his career, it appears that when the Lions’ offense underperforms, it is due to a lack of Jameson Williams usage. We have seen Dan Campbell exclaim that the Lions need to get Williams involved to keep the offense as balanced and successful as possible. Now, the Lions’ offense was fine last week, but we only saw Williams catch four passes. In a tougher matchup this week, Williams has to be used downfield to set up Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta to work the middle of the field.
Last week, we saw Nico Collins get behind the Buffalo defense a few times, something that Williams will be able to exploit this week. Again, the sportsbooks believe the Lions will be playing from behind in this game, so they have to pass the ball, meaning that Williams has to be involved. I am expecting that those factors, on top of Campbell’s infatuation with the Alabama alum, mean Williams is in for a big day.
