FlurrySports discusses the Darren Waller fantasy outlook for the rest Fantasy Football Playoffs following his big performance last week.
With the fantasy playoffs underway, if you are reading this, you probably need a win this week to get into the fantasy championship. You may know who you are starting at your running backs and wide receiver positions, so some of those 50/50 positions like tight end and flex are up for debate. Talking about tight ends, if you are someone who has streamed the position all season long, I have one name for you to stream this week. The Darren Waller fantasy outlook is positive, as his usage and his matchup this week call for another big performance.
Darren Waller Fantasy Outlook For Week 16
Waller Explodes on MNF
As many teams have found out over the past 30 years, it is really hard to beat the Steelers on Monday in Pittsburgh. That especially rings true if you are the Miami Dolphins and you are playing in below 30-degree weather. Whatever the results of the game showed, it did not stop the fact that Darren Waller had another great game for the Dolphins.
He finished the game recording 66 yards and two touchdowns on seven receptions. That put him as TE3 for the week. If it were any contest, it certainly looked like Waller was the go-to guy for Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins in a game that Miami had to win.
Darren Waller Fantasy Outlook With Quinn Ewers
The loss for the Miami Dolphins last week knocked them out of contention for the playoffs, so it makes sense that they are looking at a quarterback change. With Quinn Ewers at quarterback, this shouldn’t impact Waller too much for fantasy football. Tagovailoa is not good at playing the position. Whatever you think of it, one thing is true: other than De’Von Achane, Waller is certainly the player that I would choose to be the next-most likely player to score a touchdown.
We saw it last year; down the stretch, Jonnu Smith was a major reason why many people won fantasy championships. At the end of the season, Smith exploded due to his great receiving ability and opportunities in the red zone. Sound familiar? At this point in his career, Waller is a wide receiver who plays the tight end position. He is not a great blocker, so when he is in the game, he is in to catch the ball. When the Dolphins get to the red zone, Mike McDaniel has specific plays designed to get the tight end the ball, which is something that we saw last week against the Steelers.
The Dolphins take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16, who have been bad against the tight end position this season. This year, tight ends are averaging 14.5 fantasy points per game against Cincinnati. That includes 1,276 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns against the position this season. Those are both by far the most in the league. In six games this season, Waller has totaled six touchdowns. It is obvious that Waller is touchdown-dependent, but at six touchdowns in six games this season, it seems likely that against the Bengals, another touchdown is in the cards.

Fantasy Football Players to Drop for Darren Waller
While being loyal to your team is not a bad thing, when building your roster for the semi-finals of the fantasy playoffs, it is time to cut some of the fat. At this point in the season, we do not care about those 50/50 guys. If we aren’t picking up multiple defenses or kickers or handcuffs, we want guys that we can immediately put into our lineups. That means that there are a few players, if you want Darren Waller in your fantasy lineup for Week 16.
Oronde Gadsden, Los Angeles Chargers
I know that this is one that hurts to hear, but Oronde Gadsden is certainly droppable when it comes to fantasy football. His great two-game stretch is very far in the rear-view window. Since he finished as TE4 in Week 8, Gadsden has one top-15 finish, which came last week. Given how unpredictable the Chargers’ pass game is right now, you are not confidently starting Gadsden, as he hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 8 and has two tough matchups against the Cowboys and Texans coming up.
Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
I never really understood the hype surrounding Dalton Kincaid. Sure, he is a fine receiving weapon, but when it comes to blocking, he does not bring anything. The Bills want to run the football. So, that is why we see so much Dawson Knox on the field. When it comes to fantasy production, Kincaid is way too inconsistent to rely upon in your lineup. With the uptick in receiving work from James Cook and matchups against the Browns and Eagles on the docket, you are not confidently starting Kincaid the rest of the way.
