We have seen a couple of NFL wide receiver free agents make some moves already this offseason, with Tee Higgins and Michael Pittman Jr. getting the franchise tag while Mike Evans re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, there is still a lot of WR talent available in 2024 NFL Free Agency. With a talented receiver draft class coming up, how fast will these players find new homes?

The 2024 NFL Free Agency period officially begins on Wednesday, March 13th at 4 p.m. EST. In this day and age, all this truly means is that this is when free agents will be able to officially put pen to paper and sign their new contract.
The legal tampering period in the NFL begins at noon EST on Monday, March 11th. This is when teams can legally start negotiating with players and agents. However, we know this is already happening which is why many NFL insiders will start announcing deals and free-agent destinations on this day.
Best NFL Wide Receiver Free Agents
Calvin Ridley
After serving his suspension, Calvin Ridley got to work with the Jacksonville Jaguars. For the most part, it was a solid return to the field for Ridley, and he made plenty of big plays this past season that should warrant him being the top wide receiver in 2024 NFL Free Agency. He proved he can take over a game, which should earn him a pretty penny from one of the teams with the most money to spend.
Possible Teams:
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- New England Patriots
- Tennessee Titans
Marquise Brown
It felt like Marquise Brown had a lot to prove entering this past season. He became the top receiving option in an offense that was missing its franchise quarterback for most of the year. While his stats weren’t great, I think Brown proved he can be at least a little more than just a field stretcher. This is important, as brown is an undersized outside receiver. If speed was his only asset, then the payday for this declining asset wouldn’t be great. Instead, Brown will be one of the best receivers in free agency.
Possible Teams:
- Washington Commanders
- Chicago Bears
- Arizona Cardinals
- New England Patriots
Darnell Mooney
As far as NFL passing offenses go, the Chicago Bears have been an embarrassment throughout their entire existence. Simply, they don’t understand the concept. So, while Darnell Mooney may not be a name that excites you, a big reason for that is the team he was drafted to. Mooney should get over $10M and be effective in the slot and on the outside for his new team.
Possible Teams:
- New England Patriots
- Tennessee Titans
- Kansas City Chiefs
Gabe Davis
Gabe Davis is an impressive player in that he became a team captain for the Buffalo Bills at such a young age despite being a wide receiver. Clearly, his team loved him. However, this love was not seen consistently on the field. The question becomes whether or not the disappearance of Davis week in and week out was his fault or not. Still, he will be a hot name amongst NFL wide receiver free agents because he’s young, a good locker room guy and he has talent.
Possible Teams:
- Chicago Bears
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Jacksonville Jaguars
Tyler Boyd
We have seen Tyler Boyd play a consistent role for the Cincinnati Bengals as their slot receiver. With other big names to throw to, Boyd has often been an afterthought for both the media and opposing defenses. Still, he will be a non-flashy signing from someone in NFL Free Agency that could be the championship-winning move. Moving the chains on third down is a big deal, and Boyd could be that type of player for his new team.
Possible Teams:
- Tennessee Titans
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Detroit Lions
Other NFL Wide Receiver Free Agents
- Odell Beckham Jr.
- Curtis Samuel
- Michael Thomas
- Kendrick Bourne
- Josh Reynolds
