With the fantasy playoffs right around the corner for many leagues, this week is a do or die in terms or picking up the right guys. It also means you need to cutoff any last dead-weight on your squads. This article is a guide for the names still out there that could save your season and the names that could sink a championship chance. Better take note, or face the consequences in your fantasy match-ups.

Quarterback

Brock Bowers Injury Update Leaves Fantasy Owners Scrambling

September 13, 2025

Owned in 6% of leagues, but is projected 14.55 points. The 49ers are sure to let their newest weapon try out the offense in the garbage time of the season, and that means we could see some production for Jimmy G just in time for fantasy playoffs.

Running Backs

Dion Lewis, NE

He has proven to be a consistent scorer, is projected to get about 13 points this week, and is available in nearly 20% of leagues still. A fifth of leagues are missing out on a guy who could be a highly valuable two-back or flex option. The Patriots usually crank up the run as the weeks mount up, so don’t be shocked if Lewis sees a steady increase in numbers as well.

Alex Collins, BAL

About to face the Lions, who are sixth-worst against the running game this year, Collins is a lock. He’s available in a third of leagues! C’mon guys! Points are out there if you want to grab them. Collins is a constant ten points or better performer, and a 15-point outing is very much possible this time around.

Wide Receiver

Josh Gordon, CLE

The long-awaited return for Josh Gordon comes to an end this Sunday! While expectations for him need to be managed, he’ll surely be a part of the game plan. Just let Head Coach Hue Jackson tell you: “My plans for him? Oh boy, let me tell you. I got big plans for him. I plan for him to play and play as much as he can handle.”

Robby Anderson, NYJ

Available in 30% of leagues, a top receiver for an underrated fantasy offense. A good grab if your number two receiver or flex are especially lacking, and a ten-point performance is a good expectation for Robby in the weeks to come.

Tight End

Tyler Kroft, CIN

Kroft is about to play the Pittsburgh Steelers, who allow consistent fantasy points to tight ends this year. Add in the fact that Kroft is only owned in 40% of leagues, and suddenly a team desperate for TE production has a favorable target. He is only projected five points, but it’s a bargain grab for the potential upside of Kroft this week.

Players to Drop

Quarterback

Blake Bortles, JAX

Bortles is just not the best option available. Bortles plays for a run-reliant team in Jacksonville and he is too inconsistent, considering the options still out there at QB. Don’t settle for ten points from Bortles when there are a handful of arms out there who can get you 15 points easy in most leagues.

Running Back

C.J. Anderson, DEN

The issue with Anderson is we are all waiting for him to return to form. Stop waiting. Anderson is owned in 83% of leagues, but should be expected to grab only six points this week. Anderson has proven to be very, very meh this year. Don’t settle for Anderson when better options are still on your bench or on the market.

LeGarrette Blount, PHI

Despite getting most of the carries, Blount is not the guy anymore. Jay Ajayi is the man to trust in Philadelphia, so it is time to move on. Don’t count on a Blount surprise performance, as Corey Clement is even the clear change-of-pace back for the Eagles. Blount is just too irrelevant to trust at this point.

Tight End

Jordan Reed, WAS

He’s still owned in 80% of leagues. HE IS HURT. YOU NEED SOMEONE ELSE. YES YOU. There isn’t enough time to wait for a Jordan Reed return, as there are better options even in Washington.
