The 2021 FIA World Rally Championship is the forty-ninth season of the World Rally Championship. The WRC events for Rally Croatia and Ypres, a long-awaited return to Kenya for the Safari Rally and no date for Britain for the first time since 1996. The 2020 season once again delivered an unpredictable and nail-biting battle for the title. The FIA WRC action has launched with 12 rallies across four continents. Following their cancellation in 2020 due to COVID, the return of Kenya’s Safari Rally, one of motorsport’s legendary contests, and Rally Japan provide a presence in the world’s largest two continents by size for the first time in more than two decades.
The category is open to cars entered by manufacturers and complying with Rally2 regulations. The championship is due to begin in January 2021 with the Rallye Monte-Carlo and conclude in November 2021 with Rally Japan, and will run in support of the 2021 World Rally Championship.

Saturday is the longest leg of the weekend at 121.92km and follows a similar format in the same area as Friday, traversing stunning springtime scenery in the Žumberak nature park.
Tough tests at Mali Lipovec – Grdanjci (20.30km) and the narrow and twisty Stojdraga – Gornja Vas (20.77km), regarded as the toughest of the rally, open each loop. They are followed by the shorter Krasic – Vrskovac (11.11km) and Vinski Vrh – Duga Resa (8.78km) before service and an afternoon re-run.
