
The 11th edition of the much-awaited 2022 Birmingham World games is just a moment away from us as athletes from more than 100 countries gather in the city of the Birmingham, Alabama to showcase their talents. The extravaganza stretches across 11-days with the participants contesting in sports or disciplines that were not part of the Olympic games.
The world games were originally scheduled to take place in July of the last year, but as the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games were pushed back one year, the world games were also rescheduled. The games are being organized with the support of the International Olympic Committee. More than 3600 elite athletes from around the world are expected to compete in 30 official sports in 54 disciplines across the different venues in the Birmingham area.
