The 145th iteration of the event – the second-oldest continuously held sporting event behind the Kentucky Derby – begins Saturday at Lyndhurst, a National Trust for Historic Preservation property, in Tarrytown, New York. he dog show’s home turf for 2021 is the 67-acre Lyndhurst Mansion in Tarrytown, New York, former home to Gilded Age railroad magnate Jay Gould.
When does the best show will start
The 2021 Westminster Dog Show will be broadcast nationally on Fox, Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2. Live TV coverage will begin at 1 p.m. ET Saturday on FS2 and will run until 4:30 p.m. ET. FS1’s coverage will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET and will run through 11 p.m. ET. The earlier coverage will be comprised of breed judging while the group judging for the hound, toy, non-sporting, and herding groups will occur during the evening.

Four groups add new breeds
Joining 2021’s competition are four newly American Kennel Club-recognized breeds: the Barbet, Biewer Terrier, Belgian Laekenois and Dogo Argentino.
While the Barbet and Dogo Argentino became recognized in December 2019, neither was eligible for competition until 2021. The Barbet (pronounced “bar-bay”), a French water dog, joins the sporting group and the Dogo Argentino, a pack-hunting dog developed in the 20th century in Argentina’s Cordoba province, will compete in the working group.

The Westminster Masters Agility Championship is the liveliest event of Westminster weekend, requiring dogs to jump through hoops and bob around weave poles in timed runs. It’s also one of just two Westminster contests that permit mixed-breed dogs (the other is obedience).
In 2020, P!nk, a fleet-footed border collie from Ohio named after the pop singer, won the agility competition.
This year’s agility preliminaries will be livestreamed from 8 a.m. ET to 4 p.m. ET Friday, June 11 at westminsterkennelclub.org.
The Westminster Masters Agility Championship finals will air from 5 p.m. ET to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 12 on Fox.

Masters Agility Championship
The agility championship will begin with preliminaries on Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those will be available to stream at the Westminster Kennel Club’s official website. The championship finals will occur on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. on Fox. Or Stream here
Masters Obedience Championship
The obedience championship will take place from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Westminster Dog Show
The main event will begin on Saturday and will run through Sunday night. Morning sessions will go from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. while evening sessions will run from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Best in Show will be awarded on Sunday, June 13 at the completion of the competition.
What is the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show?
The Westminster Kennel Club Dog show is a yearly event that features nearly 3,000 dogs. Normally, it is held at the Madison Square Garden, though it will be held outdoors in Tarrytown, New York in 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The show consists of dogs competing to be the best among their group. There are seven groups total, including hound, toy, non-sporting, sporting, working, herding and terrier. The best dog in each group then competes for the “Best in Show” title.
