What to Expect From Mac Jones in 2021
The Patriots have missed on quarterbacks in the past and are looking to get it right again. After a disastrous season of Cam Newton, the flaws of not having a good quarterback are again put on display for New England. While Cam Newton seems to be their quarterback for this year, it seems that Jones will get a year to learn the system before he takes over.
For this season, there likely won’t be much Jones will be doing in this Patriot offense. However the Patriots did make some big splashes in this past free agency period bringing in Nelson Agholor, Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry. Jones has already shown his superior ability to read defenses, and will have two big tight ends to target on top of some speedy wideouts. While he certainly isn’t the sexy pick here, he is the pick the Patriots needed to make.
