To repeat its Frozen Four history Denver must eliminate Michigan. Back in 2004, the Denver Pioneers had a regional tournament in their home state they won both games by one goal and they won a national title in Boston. In what must seem like Déjà Vu for longtime Pioneers hockey fans Denver just won both Loveland Colorado Regional games by one goal and is now headed to Boston for their chance at a national title. Denver won both games by late-game goals and was even trailing early on in the game against Umass Lowell. In contrast, Michigan seemed to be able to score at will against their regional opponents. Will Denver’s defense be enough to get them into the finals game for a chance to repeat history?
