7 Games to “Earn It”

Dodgers stadium was packed for Game 7. The Astros showed up to play ball and their offense was set to go from the start, jumping out to a 5-0 lead by the second inning. Yu Darvish struggled for the Dodgers and was pulled by Roberts in that same inning, as Kershaw entered the game. It was early in the game, but the damage had been done. The Dodgers left runners on the bases, which ultimately cost them the game. Both bullpens stepped up and no runs were scored by the Astros, and only one for the Dodgers.

This was an amazing season for both the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers and this series was a reflection of it. Both teams battled it out during this exciting series. The real winners were fans in general, as we all tuned in (Unless you are Zach Brunner) to watch this exciting matchup. Many of us were forced to stay up late as the never ending game continued.

Overall, the Houston Astros were very deserving of this championship. The city of Houston needed it, and this group of guys have been playing at a top level for a while. The Los Angeles Dodgers have an excellent team and Magic Johnson and his group are doing an amazing job. I have no doubt we will see both of these teams in the playoffs next year, but for now, the Houston Astros have won the World Series.
