It’s Week 12, which means players are emerging each week on the fantasy football waiver wire due to injuries and coaching changes, particularly rookies. Fantasy managers were high on rookie wide receiver Skyy Moore catching balls from Patrick Mahomes consistently, but he hasn’t carved much of a role in the Kansas City Chiefs offense thus far.
Due to injuries plaguing the Chiefs’ wide receiving corps, Skyy Moore now potentially finds himself in a prominent role as a main pass-catcher, aside from tight end Travis Kelce. Moore is owned in just 16.3% of ESPN leagues right now, but given the injury to Kadarius Toney on Sunday Night Football, the Skyy Moore fantasy ownership is going to rise quickly.
Let’s take a closer look at why you should think about a Skyy Moore fantasy football waiver wire pickup in Week 12.
Skyy Moore simply hasn’t seen the field enough this season to even produce consistent numbers in a pass-heavy offense. Coming into Week 11, the Chiefs were without both Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster, allowing Moore to log 42% of snaps and catch 5-of-6 targets for 63 yards. To make his situation even more enticing, Toney’s injury could sideline him for multiple weeks.
Aside from the obvious injuries, the Chiefs are very much in the driver’s seat, leading the AFC West with an 8-2 record. This means they won’t need to rush any injured players back until they’re 100% healthy, especially with how good the Mahomes-Kelce connection is still. At the end of the day, there aren’t many healthy options left for the Chiefs when it comes to receivers, and Moore’s availability alone should make him an attractive fantasy football waiver wire pickup. His snap count should only increase and there’s a very good chance he starts as the WR2 in Week 12 given the severity of the injuries.
Is the Skyy Moore fantasy football waiver wire addition going to put your team over the hump? Are you destined for fantasy greatness? Does your league need to get a fantasy football award?
