Are NBA Players Overpaid?
Do you think NBA players are overpaid? It’s tough to compare it to football since the seasons have a very different length and the amount of players that need paychecks are different. Even with this, it seems to be a little extreme. Even with a shorter season, the NFL makes way more than the NBA. Now when the NBA pays players like James Harden $228M over four years, ticket prices to these games rise to inch closer to NFL amounts, which is way too high. Another examples is that Timofey Mozgov is getting paid the same amount this year as Clay Matthews, $15M. It seems like the fans are the ones hurt by all of this and the sports suffers because of it.
I don’t know, just a random thought of mine. I am interested to hear what others think!
Professional athletes of all major sports are over paid. They get paid millions of dollars to play a game that as kids they played simply bc they loved it. Everyone talks about the economy, hunger, cancer research, etc. The money that professional organizations make could go to good use and actually make a difference in the world. Meanwhile teachers, firefighters, policemen all make way below average salaries. It’s a backwards system.
